Heresy

First it was faith.
Taken away
In a moment of perceived clarity.
Then Horatio
The world is seen.
Then the false gods
Embraced by most
In supermarket sweeps
And days of color
Are questioned by me.
It has something to do
With independent ‘I’
And false control.
So I shout my disdain.
And my voice is drowned
Amongst the echo of running feet
On their way
To a bargain.
